Surprise Surprise!!!

This past weekend, FBS had the pleasure of designing flowers for one of our own designers…STEPH. Here are a few pictures highlighting Steph’s inspirations from color to the materials used.

Back in May, we blogged about Steph’s then upcoming wedding and we hinted at a surprise element. Although we let her control every detail about her décor (haha Steph – we love you for it!) we begged her to hand over her sweetheart table to the FBS team. The surprise design was a sweetheart table COMPLETELY COVERED in amazing succulents and moss along with custom dishes that went along with her modern organic theme. Here’s a video of us constructing the table.

It was the most fun design to make! Thank goodness they were good sports about this! We only left room for their glasses and dishes. Steph’s favorite thing in the world is a succulent so we thought it would be fitting if the newlyweds dined with them. MINUTES before walking down the aisle, FBS got a special text message from the bride (she had snuck into the Island house to take it all in and see her surprise).

TEXT MESSAGE: “FLOWERS ARE AMAZZZZZZZZZZZINGGGGGG!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! I am in LOVE with EVERYTHINGGGGGG!!! SWEETHEART TABLE IS OUT OF CONTROL!!!! Sooo excited!!! Yayayayayayay!!!”

Thank you Steph for allowing us the opportunity to surprise you. We loved every minute of working on your wedding.

Our Peonies are Getting Around!

Gracie Lou Events needed gorgeous peonies for one of their photo shoots and we were more than thrilled to provide them with blooms straight from the farm! Although it was approaching the end of peony season in our area, our bushes yielded us about 20 fantastic blooms for them to play with.

Jackie and Jonathan's Ledgemont Country Club Wedding - Seekonk, Ma

Talk about color!!!! Jackie and Jonathan had a vibrant wedding palette for their late May wedding....a gorgeous combination of hot pinks, bright corals, deep oranges with a hint of chartreuse green. This is one of our favorite palettes at FBS- it photographs beautifully -you can never go wrong with these colors!!! And the flowers Jackie chose to highlight this palette couldn't have been more splendid...peonies, hydrangeas, garden roses, tulips and calla lilies.....it doesn't get any better!

Jackie and Jonathan had a mixture of gorgeous high and low centerpieces. Their highs were designed in impressive large glass vases while their lows were arranged in glass compotes. I love the way a compote looks on the table - it raises the flowers ever so slightly...giving it a more elegant feel.

Jackie and Jonathan's sweetheart table was soooooo beautiful! I love designing what I call "sweetheart garlands" for these extra special tables. It's a design I like to make right on site using lush blooms, petals, and of course candlelight. It screams romance!

Is there anything more "delicious" than fresh peonies on a cake??? For the place card table we chose to create a more "free-form" design....using tall grasses, huge orange callas, tons of tulips and GORGEOUS coral charm peonies. I always love a little something different on the place card table...it's an area where you can really play!

Jackie's bouquets were incredible if I do say so myself!!! Look at the way those bright maids' bouquets pop against their gorgeous berry colored dresses. The combination of peonies, tulips, callas and roses were incredible...we chose not to add any green to these bouquets so that they would look especially rich and luxurious against their gowns. Our beautiful bride Jackie carried a huge bouquet comprised entirely of hot pink peonies....fluffy...romantic....fragrant.....amazing!!!

Jackie, we had so much fun designing your flowers for you! Thank you for loving flowers (and for that matter brightly colored flowers!!!) as much as we do...it makes our job just that much more enjoyable!!

Claire's Glamelia!!

We're so pysched, some of the shots from Kristin Spencer are in and we can finally show off our famous "glamelia" bouquet!! We loved adding the beautiful diamonds and pearls in the center! Also, check out the place card piece we designed...doesn't it just pop in the Belle Mer lounge?!

Jillian and John's Linden Place Wedding -- Bristol, RI

We LOVE designing for clients who have a great color palette to work with!! Linden Place in Bristol is such a beautiful place hold a reception, it just glows inside, much like Jillian in her GORGEOUS gown that day! Take a look at our fun and funky color palette using blue hydrangea from holland, orange Calla Lillies, orange pincushion protea (yup that's what those "crazy orange things" are!), orange milva roses, gigantic firey freesia and hints of blue delphinium!
