FBS Goes To The Farm

As we found ourselves some down time this week, we decided to take full advantage if it by spending a day on the farm. As summer is coming to an end and with fall just around the corner we took to the gardens; weeding, dead heading, and clearing space for new growth. The farm is bursting with abundant floral along with tasty fruits and veggies. What a day we had in store...

As a team the progress we made was astonishing! Along with a little help from our expert farmer, Luke!

It was so wonderful to create our weekly designs right in the garden surrounded by all the product you need! These new industrial containers provide the perfect juxtaposition to the gardens floral.
Soon we were summoned by Sonjia and the feast began.

Breakfast was nothing short of delectable baked goodness involving fresh blueberries picked right from the farm! An indulgent blueberry skillet corn bread drizzled with warm maple syrup and thyme infused blueberry muffins. Luke loves the muffins! After a wonderful morning of great food and conversation, we headed back out into the fields.

After working up a good sweat and making lots of progress we were once again called in by
Sonjia for lunch.
To no surprise, lunch was magnificent!
A plethora of marinated garden veggies and the ultimate terrine, paired with a bottle of wine. Another incredible meal and we were off to tackle the dahlias.

The varieties of color and sheer size of the dinner plate dahlia was breathtaking. Then it was on to the zinnias, which are coming in fantastically!

The day came to an end with heavenly blueberry pie topped with ice cream and few good laughs. We treasure days like this where we are able to better learn the true meaning of our craft, nurture the product that we use everyday and thoroughly enjoy the company and camaraderie of this amazing
team!
